February 20, 2007 Meeting Minutes

 
   

The InPHC Board of Directors met February 20, 2007 in Rochester with Nancy, Denny, Lesly, Deb, Jim, Brent, Pauli, Larry and Mike present. President Jim Cerny called the meeting to order at 6:45 pm.

Mike read the minutes from the previous meeting. Denny motioned to accept as read with a second from Deb and passed.

Lesley handed out a list of all checks written year to date. The checking account has a total of $10,742.91 with $7350 in the stallion service, youth club $2366.77, and the general fund of $1026.14. The money management account’s balance is $7565.55 of general fund money. Total paid on the banquet was $1383.16. She had another estimate on a credit card company and decided to pass due to the long term commitment. She will pursue other companies.

Advertising was discussed. Mike motioned with a second from Larry to run a full page ad in the April Showring listing show dates and also to run the one day showbill at a cost of $135 per page. Motioned passed. Nancy motioned with a second from Larry to run a half page ad in the April issue of the Horse Circuit News listing all the show dates at a cost of $171. Motioned passed. The show schedule in these ads will include the Southern Club’s dates also and will check to see if they will help with the cost.

Nancy reported she has 40 mare nominations so far for the open futurity.

Nancy also reported 41 stallions have sold so far for a total of $19,175.00 and $775.00 from the $25 administration fee.

Deb reported she will run the information booklet in with the April newsletter to save postage on separate mailings.

Nancy reported all contacts are sent for the judges.

Much discussion was held concerning the stalls fees for the Danville show. Due to the higher cost of this grounds due to new construction and covered arena, Pauli motioned to charge $40 per stall with a second from Deb. Motion passed 5-3. This fee is for the weekend including the youth/amateur POR on Sunday. Also, to encourage participation at Columbia City’s new date, Deb motioned with a second from Denny to pay only for one judge at this show (buy one judge, get one free). Motioned passed. APHA and office fees still apply to the second judge.

The youth will have a meeting March 11th during the general membership meeting.

The letter was sent to the zone committee declaring we will participate with start up money for the 2007 zone show.

Michelle Steigmeyer had sent Jim a list of possible grants she’d like to pursue for the club. Decided for her do this and to narrow down to a possible ten for the board to review.

Denny motioned to adjourn at 8:50 with a second from Deb. Motion passed. Next meeting is a general membership March 11th at the same restaurant.
